The resurgence of chip investment trend

time: 2022-08-03

In a new chip factory opened by Bosch, hundreds of workers are busy, eager to produce more chips for the world where chips are in short supply.
These newly trained employees are all wearing hair nets, gloves, laboratory work clothes, disposable boots, and masks - all to prevent every pollutant on the chip. By the end of this year, more workers will come to this $1 billion ultra clean new factory to work under eerie yellow lights.
The Bosch Dresden factory has accelerated operations to cope with the current situation. Stefan Hartung, Chairman of the Bosch Board of Directors, stood next to the new production line and said that after starting work six months earlier than planned, they are accelerating faster than planned. Considering the supply bottleneck in the industry, we don't want to waste any time
But the more telling place may be the large and dirty open space next door. Bosch will turn its attention to this area and plan to invest $3 billion to produce more chips.
